This is my personal blog. Its primary focus is on “leadership and more.” My mission is give you the tools and inspiration to become a better you, both in business and in life.
I write on leadership, marketing, growth, and current events. Every so often, I write about things that doesn’t necessarily fit into one of these categories.
My goal is to provide content that is valuable, useable and relevant today, and for years to come.

I have worked in the newspaper industry off and on since I was ten years old. I began in the pressroom of the Minden Press-Herald in 1979 and I got “ink in my blood.”
I graduated from Largo High School in Florida in 1987 and joined the United States Air Force. I served nearly four years, working in avionics on the B-52 bomber. During my military career, I was deployed during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. I separated from the military in 1991.
For the past 21 years, I have worked in various community newspapers in the south, from Florida, to Alabama and finally back to Louisiana. Today, I hang my hat at the Bossier Press-Tribune.
I have worked in every department including advertising, news, circulation and production, but really found my calling in graphic arts.
I was thrust into management in 1993 and have successfully led teams in two different newspapers through varied economic and market climates.
My newspapers have been recognized as “Newspaper of the Year” by the Louisiana Press Association on four occasions, along with other awards too numerous to list. I am also a former president of the Louisiana Press Association.
For the past four years, I have published (in addition to my other newspapers) BIZ. Magazine, a publication geared at helping business leaders in the community do what they do better.
I started my blog in 2007 as a way to connect with the community, however it has grown to be more of a leadership training and inspiration tool as of late, an endeavor I thoroughly enjoy.
I have been married to my wife, Tina, for 22 years. We have two sons.
In my free time, I enjoy an active role in my church (First Assembly of God in Minden, LA), watching college football, reading and the occasional round of golf.
